I am Katie Pecho, a Chicago-based writer, filmmaker, and word-wielder extraordinaire.
My short comedy film You Are Going to Love it Here was an official selection of the 2021 Revival Film Festival, and the pilot script for my (someday) comedy series Discomfortable was a finalist in the 2020 Yes, And... Laughter Lab National Comedy Writing Competition.
And as I write with the voracity of a warthog at a buffet, I always have (many) other projects in the works.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where my creative nonfiction essay was selected as a finalist for the National Undergraduate Literature Conference.
After a nearly decade-long career in cybersecurity operations and project management, I have now resided in the fabulous world of copywriting for over six years, where my passion is to dazzle, delight, and direct with the power of language. I write everything from comedy to copy, satire to social media, screenplays to resumes. There is no niche of writing I won’t try to get my hands on.
